God it feels good to be able to title one of these guys again! It's great to be back too

Right! Let me explain this little gem.

Location: Brim
This dragon lives within the venomous swamps of Brim, a poisonous marshland of pure death to anything that lives outside of it's borders.

The Balsaw lacks venom, or poison as an offense and is by no means a predator, even if it does indeed have a nasty bite. However, it does carry a unique defensive measure that makes them much sought after for "Purifying" waters.

The Balsaw has a massive sponge around it's neck and the back of it's head. When it enters the poisonous swamps, the poisons and toxins within the waters generated by the roots of the surrounding plant and wildlife get sucked into it, and get trapped within it.

These poisons appear purple in the sponge, which is to say that a balsaw with a yellow sponge is much safer to attack than a purple one.

The sponge constantly grows, and these things are actually farmed for the sponges as unrivaled filters. They have medicinal purposes as well.

Balsaws can not fly at all, and are actually very slow at running as well. They are also believed to be the result of alligators being exposed to the venom element.

The inhabitants of brim, that is, the half dragons, actually eat the sponges because the resulting venom is both incredibly potent and quite tasty.
